Job Summary:
The Water Treatment Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing water treatment systems within commercial and residential properties. They will ensure the efficient operation of water filtration, softening, and purification systems, while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards. The Water Treatment Technician must possess a strong knowledge of plumbing systems, water treatment technology, and relevant equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Install, inspect, repair, and maintain water treatment systems, including filtration, softening, reverse osmosis, and purification systems.
2. Perform routine maintenance and preventive servicing on water treatment equipment to ensure optimal performance and prolong the lifespan of systems.
3. Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues related to water treatment systems, utilizing problem-solving skills to identify and resolve faults.
4. Conduct water quality tests and analysis to assess the effectiveness of treatment systems and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
5. Collaborate with clients and provide expert advice on water treatment solutions, addressing their specific needs and requirements.
6. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports, maintenance schedules, and equipment inventories.
7. Comply with safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring all work is conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
8. Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in water treatment systems to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
9. Provide technical training and guidance to junior technicians, fostering professional development within the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program is preferred.
2. Valid plumbing license or certification as required by local regulations.
3. Proven experience as a Water Treatment Technician or similar role, demonstrating a thorough understanding of water treatment systems.
4. Proficient knowledge of plumbing systems, including pipefitting, valves, pumps, and related equipment.
5. Strong understanding of water treatment processes, chemicals, and associated technologies.
6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
7. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
8. Familiarity with relevant tools, equipment, and testing devices used in water treatment systems.
9. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in water quality testing and analysis.
10. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex concepts to clients and colleagues.
11. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
